Having been to concerts given by the Weymouth Choral Society I decided I would like to sing with this joyful and enthusiastic choir. I am now a new member and enjoying every moment. The friendliness and welcome I received from the moment I arrived were heart-warming. It felt like a homecoming. We are singing beautiful music and the Musical Director and Accompanist are first class musicians. There’s plenty of fun and laughter and I am so happy that I am now a member of this happy band of singers. Why not come to one of our concerts and see for yourself?

My name is Alun. I am a new member of Weymouth Choral Society. I have a love of music and love to sing. I have previously been a member of Oxford Operatic Society, Northampton Male Voice Choir and Pewsey Male Voice Choir. Also several acting organisations. I recently moved to Weymouth from Wiltshire and joined the Choral Society. This I find is a good way to meet new people and make new friends.

My name is Janne and I’m an alto. I joined Weymouth Choral Society 3 years ago when my children were old enough to let me leave the house before bedtime. I was quite new to Weymouth also so joining a choir was a great way to meet new people, as well as to return to my love of singing. But the very best thing about being a member of WCS is the beautiful music we get to sing. It’s a privilege to be part of creating sounds that, when everything comes together, can send chills down the spine. I look forward to my children being old enough to come to one of our concerts. I think they will then understand why mum has to go out every Monday night. Singing is so uplifting and we have a laugh at rehearsals too. I can recommend it to anyone. My colleagues may not agree as I’m often humming alto parts in the office on a Tuesday morning!
